Armed robbery

Armed robbery is a form of aggravated theft in which a dangerous weapon is used to perpetrate or threaten violence against a victim.

Conspiracy

A conspiracy is where two or more people plan to commit a criminal act together.

The charge of conspiracy can stand, regardless of whether the criminal act was attempted or carried out.

Drugs

There are five main illegal drugs offences: possession, possession with intent to supply, supply, production and importation.

Firearms

Firearms offences cover everything from possessing, buying or acquiring a prohibited weapon/ammunition, to loading the weapon and using it to cause harm.

Grooming

Grooming is where an adult forms an emotional connection to gain the trust of a child, with the intention of abusing, exploiting or trafficking them.

Historic sexual offences

Historic sexual offences are defined as any sexual crime that took place a long time ago. Such crimes may include rape, sexual assault or child sexual abuse.

Human trafficking

Human trafficking involves arranging or facilitating the travel of another person, for the ultimate exploitation of that person.

These charges can stand, even if the person consented to travel.

Murder and manslaughter

Murder is the most serious. It’s either premeditated, or takes place while another serious crime is being committed.

Murder is unplanned, but intentional. For example, it may happen as a result of someone reacting in a heated situation. We have represented many people who have been charged with murder but then been found not guilty by a jury.

Manslaughter, is unplanned and unintentional. It can be voluntary, for example, if a single punch turns out to be fatal. Or involuntary, if a person is killed accidentally because of someone else’s actions.

In most of our murder cases we allocate an experienced solicitor who has dealt with many murders. We also instruct leading Kings Counsel and a senior barrister for every case. We also have a list of leading experts that we instruct to check every aspect of the prosecution case whether that be Fingerprints, Forensics, Ballistics, blood splatter, or telephonic, cell site experts.

If you are arrested for murder instruct Harewood Law at an early stage at the police station to ensure your best defence is advanced early. We have represented people charged with murder nationwide.

Organised crime

Organised crime is defined as planned and coordinated criminal behaviour, by a group of people who work together continually.

Rape

Rape covers any kind of sexual penetration of another person without their consent. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual intercourse.

Sexual offences

Sexual offence charges cover a number of serious crimes, including rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, prostitution, and pornography.

Terrorism

Terrorism can cover a number of offences. From membership of prohibited organisations to planning and committing terrorist acts.
